  1. Once again, the State Legislature interferes with local government business. The Legislature wants to undo anything the Cities & Counties enact – no right turn on red, IPS, Gary schools, etc. I say to my State Representatives and Senators, “Mind your own business. Focus on the vast array of statewide problems, and let local municipalities, councils and boards take care of local matters!”

    1. The state of IPS schools has become untenable, and has been for quite some time. The phrase rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic comes to mind. Developers in the donut counties know that anyone that possibly can is going to move out of an IPS district. That’s part of why in addition to all of the single family homes and new developments that continue to pop up monthly, there’s now several large multi-story apartment communities in various phases of development.
