  1. Let’s legalize weed and use the pot heads money to repave our roads in Marion county and fix other budget shortfalls. Why should every other state benefit from the tax revenue? Perhaps I should rent a billboard, I hear they are becoming available…

  2. “Over the next two years, the budget is estimated to add about $713 million to the state’s estimated $2.7 billion in savings.”

So, we’ve cut property taxes in a shell game that will require localities to raise income taxes or lose services. We’ve cut local health funding, and further centralized control over education. And the state grows it’s hoard of cash instead of investing in its citizens. Where is the fiscal conservatism? Where is the party of small government and local control? This super majority has been a disaster for the state. If people were paying attention, they would be outraged. But that’s what all the distractions over DEI and ‘wokeness’ are for, right?

  3. Apparently our Super Majority does not believe the TRUMP administration is on track to MAGA our economic situation predicted by their economic forecasters . No expectation that the economic forecast information could be wrong . Or they are quietly drooling over the windfall revenue spending opportunity if it is wrong .

  4. I rarely complain about the articles. But …

How can it not be mentioned that despite knowing before the session started that we’d be looking at reduced revenues, legislators went ahead and reduced revenues further with a property tax cut?
