Why not focus on deregulation and increased competition to better deliver on the energy policy goals Rep. Ed Soliday claims to champion—reliability, affordability, resiliency, stability, and environmental sustainability? If Indiana truly wants to modernize its grid and attract 21st-century industries, deregulation could break the hold of vertically integrated utilities that have little incentive to innovate or reduce costs.
